When journeying abroad, Use Your EQ.

" When visiting the Higher Main Valley Coburg Area it is awfully simple to comprehend and relate to Viktor von Scheffel's zeal for the Franconian area and country that is voiced so splendidly in his "Frankenlied". When approaching from the south you get a wonderful view of the Higher Main Valley : The baroque gem that is the Banz Priory and the Rococo Vierzehnheiligen pilgrimage basilica are found on both sides of the pretty valley between Adam Riese's birthplace of Bad Staffelstein and Lichtenfels, the home to the German basket-making industry. The unique "Upper Main Musical Summer" series of concerts take place in several of the area's architectural masterpieces.

A visit would not be ideal without a walk up Staffelberg hill, where the Franconian country truly does positively "lie at one's feet". Approximately 20kms to the north of Lichtenfels, Coburg is found among some pleasant and mountainous country, and in contrast to many cities of an identical size ( Coburg ! has a population of approximately 42,000 ) this previous seat of the Dukes of Coburg has got a variety of works of art, historic monuments, castles and palaces that actually outstrips its size. Now Coburg is thought of as the "Samba Capital" of Europe due to its hosting of the World Samba Holiday each July.

What do you do when you do not know the language or customs? That is when your EQ, or Emotional Intelligence, comes in handy. I believed I'd pick up Russian quickly, but I did not for many reasons : one. You can't "picture" the words as the Russian alphabet is Cyrillic ; i. When I revealed, "Good morning" in Russian, I'd get back, "Good morning. In addition, there are a number of humanities and crafts markets that occur each year,eg the humanities and crafts market in the old sheep farm in Ahorn at Whitsun and the famous basket market in Lichtenfels in Sep .
